Remove pitioncya.co.in notifications

pitioncya.co.in is a deceptive website that tries to trick users into allowing desktop ads. To do this, it misuses a legitimate browser feature that allows sites to request permission to show notifications on the desktop. Thus, when you get redirected to the site, you will immediately get a browser alert saying “pitioncya.co.in wants to show notifications”. If you click “Allow”, the site will be authorized to show what essentially are ads on your desktop. Not only will those ads be annoying, but they may also expose you to potentially dangerous content, such as scams or malware.

pitioncya.co.in, along with hundreds of other sites, misuses the “show notifications” feature to spam users’ desktops with advertisements. The site does not have actual content and only shows visitors a message on how to enable notifications. Upon visiting the site, you’ll immediately get a browser alert saying “pitioncya.co.in wants to show notifications”. Given the dubious nature of the site, any notifications you see are likely to be problematic. These ads will appear in a location similar to genuine system notifications, potentially causing confusion for users. Additionally, some ads could be designed to mimic legitimate notifications. Therefore, if you’ve granted permission, refrain from interacting with any ads, as they could lead to exposure to harmful content.

We strongly recommend running a scan with the anti-virus program WiperSoft to check for adware, as this could be the source of unwanted redirects that will continue until the adware is removed. Alternatively, if the issue arises from other sites you visit, install an adblocker program.

Random redirects can be triggered by adware

Being redirected to websites like pitioncya.co.in usually happens when you visit sites considered high-risk, such as those featuring adult or pirated content. These types of sites often host questionable advertisements, and any interaction with them can lead to redirects. Fortunately, this is easily fixable with any decent adblocker program.

In less common cases, redirects may stem from an adware infection. If adware is present, you may experience frequent redirects even when browsing safe websites. Infections such as adware, browser hijackers, and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) are generally installed via a method known as software bundling, which allows them to install without your clear consent. This method enables adware to be attached to popular free programs as optional, extra offers, which install automatically unless manually deselected.

To avoid inadvertently installing unwanted offers alongside free programs, choose Advanced or Custom settings when installing free programs. You might notice that the installation prompts recommend using Default settings; however, following this advice will keep offers hidden and permit their automatic installation without your explicit consent. By opting for Advanced settings, you can view all additional offers and uncheck them, preventing them from installing. Though some offers may appear useful initially, it’s best to refrain from allowing their installation since they can be quite persistent once they’re fully installed.
