Remove Inthatmyexp.biz pop-ups
Inthatmyexp.biz is a highly questionable website that will try to trick you into subscribing to advertisements. The site is misusing a legitimate browser feature to push a social engineering scam that tries to get users to permit ads. When you get redirected to Inthatmyexp.biz, a pop-up will appear saying “Inthatmyexp.biz wants to show notifications”. If you press “Allow”, you will be agreeing to see ads.
Sites like Inthatmyexp.biz take advantage of a legitimate browser feature that allows sites to show notifications. Legitimate sites use this feature to keep users informed about important stories, updates, etc. When a user allows a site to show notifications, they will appear even on the desktop, bottom-right corner. As an example, if you want to be informed about important news stories, you can allow a news website to show notifications. However, unsurprisingly, questionable sites like Inthatmyexp.biz also use this feature, only they’re using it to spam users with ads.
When you land on Inthatmyexp.biz, a pop-up will appear saying that “Inthatmyexp.biz wants to show notifications”. The site itself will also say that you need to press “Allow” to continue to the site. However, if you press “Allow”, you will start seeing advertisements on your desktop. The thing about those ads is that they’re not only very annoying but can also be somewhat dangerous. Some of those ads may be disguised as legitimate system notifications, and you could be tricked into downloading something malicious. So if you have allowed the site to show notifications, be very careful with which notifications you click on until you revoke that permission.
It’s imperative that you determine why you are redirected to sites like Inthatmyexp.biz. If the redirect was triggered by a site you were visiting, you don’t need to do anything besides install adblocker. However, if the redirects are happening out of the blue, you could have adware installed. If it is adware, you’d need to get rid of it to delete Inthatmyexp.biz redirects permanently. And if you permitted the site to show notifications, you need to revoke that permission. The last section of the report will explain how you can do that.
Redirects to sites like Inthatmyexp.biz can be caused by adware
If you’re redirected to Inthatmyexp.biz, there could be two reasons. You either have adware installed on your computer, or you were redirected when browsing questionable websites. A lot of high-risk websites can trigger a redirect, so you should at least have adblocker when visiting them. Sites that have pornography or pirated content are usually considered to be high-risk and can expose you to questionable ads and redirect you.
However, if you’re constantly redirected at random times, you may have adware installed. Adware is a pretty minor infection that mainly focuses on exposing users to as many advertisements as possible. In most cases, users are taken by surprise by adware’s presence, as it sneaks in unnoticed. It comes attached to free software as an extra offer, using a method called software bundling. When a program has something attached to it, that something is permitted to install alongside, unless you manually prevent it from doing so. Fortunately, it’s quite easy to prevent their installation.
When installing freeware, opt for Advanced (Custom) settings instead of Default. Advanced settings will make all added offers visible, and you will be able to deselect all of them. Once you have unchecked the offers, you can continue installing the program.
