Remove hotbxegabo.today notifications

hotbxegabo.today is a generic scam website that tries to trick users into allowing ads on the desktop. The site is practically identical to all other sites that try to do the same thing by misusing a legitimate browser feature. The site will trigger your browser to show an alert saying “hotbxegabo.today wants to show notifications”, and if you click “Allow”, the site will be authorized to show ads directly on your desktop. Because hotbxegabo.today is a dubious site, its shown notifications will also be dubious. They could expose you to potentially dangerous content, including scams and malware. Thus, if you have clicked “Allow”, revoke that permission right away.

When you get redirected to hotbxegabo.today, you won’t see anything on the site besides a message urging you to click “Allow” to watch the video. This may work on users who were trying to stream pirated content for free when they got redirected. This message refers to a browser alert stating “hotbxegabo.today wants to show notifications” that appear when you get redirected to it,  If you click “Allow,” the site will begin bombarding your desktop with ads. These ads can be quite annoying and deceptive as they will continuously appear on the right side of your screen and resemble legitimate system notifications. Some of these ads may also pose risks by redirecting you to websites that conceal malware or promote scams. If you’ve granted the site permission, it’s best not to engage with any notifications and to revoke that permission right away.

It is advisable to run a scan of your computer using WiperSoft, as adware could be the reason for the redirects to questionable sites. If adware is indeed the issue, using an anti-virus program is the easiest way to remove it. If you have enabled the site to send you push notifications, you can easily revoke this permission through your browser settings. Instructions for navigating your browser settings will be included at the end of this report for those who need assistance.

What triggers redirects to sites like hotbxegabo.today

You can get redirected to sites like hotbxegabo.today when you visit ad-heavy websites but don’t have an adblocker installed. A lot of websites try to generate revenue by exposing users to as much ad content as possible. Sites with pornographic or pirated content in particular do this often. Fortunately, any decent adblocker program is very effective against both ads and redirects.

Frequent redirects can indicate an adware infection installed on your device. Programs such as adware and browser hijackers often get installed through a method called software bundling. This method allows unwanted junk like adware to be bundled with popular free programs as extra offers and set to be installed automatically. Although these additional offers are technically optional, they require you to manually deselect them during installation to block them from installing. Unfortunately, these offers are often hidden in settings that most users don’t usually check, making it easy to overlook them, thus allowing them to install.

To prevent unwanted installations, it’s important to select the right installation settings when installing free programs. Default settings allow all bundled offers to be installed automatically. Instead of Default, you need to opt for Advanced settings, which will show all the additional offers and enable you to easily uncheck the boxes to prevent installation. Allowing any of these offers to be installed will clutter your computer with unnecessary programs, which will cause issues and can be challenging to remove once fully installed. This is why software bundling is a problematic method of installation, leading many anti-virus programs to flag programs that use it as potential threats.

How to stop hotbxegabo.today notifications?

You also need to have an adblocker program installed.
