About this hijacker
Pro-search.me is a browser hijacker, completely identical to many other hijackers. In fact, if you have had a hijacker before, there’s a good chance that it looked exactly like this one. And if you have encountered a hijacker before, that means you have not learned your lesson when it comes to installing freeware. Browser hijackers are attached to free software as extra offers and in order to prevent them from installing, you need to deselect them. If you fail to do so, you will end up with all kinds of unwanted programs on your system. Hijackers are not malicious by themselves but they are annoying because they change browser’s settings and then try to redirect you to sponsored websites. Why remove Pro-search.me?
As soon as the hijacker enters your system, it will change your browser’s settings and set its domain as your homepage, new tabs and search engine. You allowed the hijacker to install yourself when you were installing freeware. It was attached to free software as optional items that you can choose to install. However, they are set to install so if you do not notice them during installation, they will install. To be able to deselect them and thus prevent installation, you need to choose Advanced (Custom) settings and uncheck all the boxes of the additional offers. You can then proceed to install the freeware. It’s much easier to prevent installations than it would be to remove Pro-search.me.

To be able to fully uninstall Pro-search.me, we suggest you get anti-spyware software. The program would find where the hijacker is hiding and get rid of it for you. If you choose to go with manual Pro-search.me removal, you will need to find the hijacker yourself, and that could take more time.
