How to stop sss-2024-new.com notifications

sss-2024-new.com is a deceptive website that tries to trick users into allowing ads on the desktop. The site is misusing a legitimate browser feature to do that, which is why you will get a browser alert saying “sss-2024-new.com wants to show notifications”. If you allow this particular site to show you notifications, you will see ads on your desktop. If you have given the site permission, it’s easy to revoke it in your browser’s settings.

When you get redirected to sss-2024-new.com, you will see a video player that starts and suddenly stops. A message will also be displayed, saying you need to click “Allow” to continue. The message refers to a browser alert that pops up when you enter the website. The alert says that “sss-2024-new.com wants to show notifications”. If you click “Allow”, the site will be authorized to spam ads on your desktop. Some of those ads may also be dangerous and lead to sites that hide malware or promote scams. If you have given the site permission, do not interact with the notifications and revoke the permission.

This “show notifications” feature is legitimate, so you can give sites permission as long as they are safe sites. If there are sites you frequently visit, you can allow them to show notifications to see their content without needing to visit the sites. You can easily revoke this permission in your browser’s settings.

It’s strongly recommended to scan your computer with WiperSoft because adware could be why you’re redirected. If adware is the problem, it would be easiest to remove using an anti-virus program. If you have given the site permission to show you push notifications, it’s easily revokeable in your browser’s settings. Instructions will be provided at the end of this report if you need help with navigating your browser’s settings.

What triggers redirects to sites like sss-2024-new.com?

The most likely trigger for random redirects is the websites you visit. If you don’t have an adblocker, certain sites will trigger redirects no matter what you click on. Websites with pirated and/or pornographic content are particularly guilty of this. Fortunately, this issue is easily fixable with a good adblocker program.

Regular redirects may also be a symptom of an adware infection. If that is the case, you will be redirected frequently. Fortunately, adware is not a serious infection and is usually installed via a method known as software bundling. The method allows junk programs to be installed without explicit permission from users. Adware and similar infections are added to popular free programs as extra offers. The offers are set to be installed alongside the programs they’re attached to but they are technically optional. To prevent them from installing, users need to manually deselect them. This is made difficult by the fact that the offers are hidden in settings users don’t normally use. This is why software bundling is considered to be a rather controversial installation method. Programs that do use software bundling to install are often detected as potential threats by anti-virus programs.

These unwanted installations are easily preventable as long as you choose the correct settings. During installation, the installation window recommends using Default settings but if do that and the program has offers attached to it, they will be permitted to install. However, Advanced settings will make all added offers visible and give you the option to deselect the offers you do not want, which should be all offers. You simply need to uncheck the boxes. Allowing any offers to install would be a mistake because you would only fill your computer with junk programs that can be difficult to get rid of.
